Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 3)

Lover Awakened - J.R. Ward Originally reviewed on Pages Of Forbidden LoveI seriously think I am going to start all my Black Dagger Brotherhood reviews like this, I apologize for the repetitiveness in advance, but I couldn’t wait to start this book! It is only the third one but the first two just pulled me right in and I kept me wanting more. There was an incident/event at the end of Lover Eternal that left this big “Nooo!” moment for me and I was anxious to figure out what was going to come of it.When I read Dark Lover I was curious about Zsadist and then I read Lover Eternal and I couldn’t wait to read his story. He is portrayed as the scariest of the brothers, no one trusts him, and some say he is even just plain evil but there is so much under that frightening exterior. Zsadist went through a lot in his past and it left him feeling angry, dirty, and afraid. He has barriers up that no one has ever attempted to tear down. People usually take one look at him and stay the hell away so when Bella takes an interests he can’t wrap his head around why and continuously tries to push her onto his brother (who I felt bad for as well). Zsadist could really piss me off but it was understandable and I loved him.Bella is by far my favorite so far. I haven’t disliked any of the girls. I loved Beth and Mary but I think I loved Bella even more. The poor thing goes through so much. I loved how she doesn’t let Zsadist intimidate her and stands up to him. She could have easily taken one look at him, been given one push away, and given up because things definitely are not easy when it comes to these two.By far my favorite book in the BDB series so far! They just keep getting better and better. There was action and suspense right from the beginning and I swear this book was going to give me a panic attack by the end. I fell even more in love with the characters I had already been introduced to and disliked the lessers even more. I didn’t think things could get more horrible. J.R. Ward definitely added more dimensions to the story and made things even more crazy. Also, this book definitely brought on the water works. Just so sad! I almost couldn’t take it all.
